Audit Update: Progress, Challenges, and Our Commitment

The audit process has been progressing steadily since its initiation, with several key milestones achieved over the past months. The team is fully focused on ensuring a thorough evaluation, and we are now nearing the final stages of this important project.

Team Formation and Structure

The first team meeting to structure the audit team was held in the first week of April 2024. This meeting was pivotal in laying the groundwork for defining the roles and responsibilities within the audit team. In early July 2024, the audit team held its first formal meeting with ICB’s EC representative to formalize the approach, objectives, and steps for completing the audit.

Ongoing Collaboration, Challenges, and Progress

The audit timeline may feel lengthy, but several key factors have contributed to this:

  • Volunteer Driven: Members balance personal, professional, and family commitments, limiting available time. Progress reflects the realities of a community-focused, resource-limited initiative, not neglect
  • Independence & Transparency: Leadership stepped back to avoid any perception of influence, ensuring credibility
  • Team Structure: A five-member team was chosen to maintain fairness, balance, and accountability, reducing bias risks

Over the course of the audit, the team continued to engage in regular meetings to ensure that progress remained on track. The final meeting with the audit team occurred in the first week of December 2024, at which point they confirmed that they had gathered all necessary information. The team is now in the process of compiling their findings and drafting the final report. Their dedication and meticulous attention to detail have been crucial in reaching this stage, and we anticipate that the finalized audit report will be completed in the near future.
