As-Salaam-Alaikum!

The Islamic Center of Boise (ICB) is looking for a full time Imam that will lead our community, especially the youth, by providing guidance on religious and spiritual issues in a knowledgeable and insightful manner.

Our Muslim community is very diverse from all over the world (Middle East, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Africa, Bosnia, Americas, and more), and consists of a mix of refugees and migrants as well as natives of the US (about 300-350 attend Jummah prayer, and 1000-1200 during Eid). Duties and Responsibilities:

–  This is a Full-time position with schedule flexibility

–  Lead most of Friday prayers, Eid, Taraweeh, and some daily prayers

–  Establish a religious education program for the youth to grow as future community leaders

–  Engage Muslim youth in peaceful pursuits and correct understanding of Islam and make them capable of dealing with the contemporary Muslim issues in the West

–  Teach Islam to the community (Quran Tafseer, Sunnah, Halaqa, etc.)

–  Officiate some family matters such as weddings, funerals, comforting, advising, conversion to Islam, visiting the sick or pre-death, etc.

–  Provide office hours for private consultation

–  Engage with the larger Boise community (other Muslims, Interfaith groups, etc.)

Required Qualifications:

–  A degree in Islamic Studies or related field from an accredited educational institution

–  Comprehensive knowledge of Islamic Shariah

–  Fluent in English and Arabic (spoken and written)

–  Authorized to work in the US (US citizen, US permanent resident, long-term visa and work permission)

–   Sunni

– Good Interpersonal skills to connect with youth and elderly

–  Ability to interact with and relate to youth

–  Ability to work with people of different cultures and backgrounds

–  Demonstrated experience in Islamic family and youth counseling

–  Has a dynamic personality and is a motivational speaker

–  Experience in speaking with Non-Muslims about Islam

Preferred Qualifications:

–  Can recite the whole Quran

–  Deep knowledge of Islam History

–  Few years of experience as Imam in the US
